ERIE ENTRY TABLE

Earlier this month, I finished my first start to finish design project— outside of my own home of course! Prior to this, I had been doing some consulting here and there, but when I decided I’d officially take the plunge and go for it in starting my own interior decorating side hustle, I reached out to some friends and family to see if they had any projects I could help with in their own homes.
My cousin and her husband recently relocated to Erie, Pennsylvania where they built a beautiful, brand new home. My cousin was excited about the opportunity to have some newly designed spaces in her home, and she immediately asked if I could help her by designing a new entry table for this space.

Overjoyed to officially get my hands on a project myself, I got to work immediately. First things first, the client asked me to send a few options for entry tables. While we were still getting to know eachother and establish their style, I pulled some budget-friendly options for the space. Within seconds, they fell in love with a Studio McGee by Target console table (linked below). We went to work on styling from there.
Having literally just moved (and did I mention they have their first baby on the way?!) the clients loved the idea of a budget friendly yet statement making table. It is quite literally the first thing you see when you walk in their front entry, therefore I believe it says a lot about them and the vibe they want to set for the rest of their home.
So, I got to work on a couple of options. We didn’t establish a clear style or budget, but I knew they would like something that was easily accessible, budget friendly, and clean yet timeless.

With their new home literally minutes from Lake Erie, I found myself drawn to nautical-inspired pieces. No, it’s not the ocean, but I had a feeling it would be something my client could be drawn to. I noticed they had lots of black wood, metal, and cool tones in their home already, so I wanted to tie into that in any way I could. Anything with water pulled those cool tones I was looking for.
